The origins of the cheeseburger are unknown, although there are many theories including a boy dropping cheese on a sizzling hamburger in 1926 at a restaurant in Pasadena, CA and Kaelin’s Restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky who claimed they invented it in 1934. Today over 9 billion burgers are served at restaurants and cafeterias in a huge range of formats.
